Spindle drives

Spindle drives convert rotary motion into linear motion. Conversion is accomplished by means of a helical spindle with spindle nut.

The spindle is driven by a motor and the spindle nut executes linear motion. The system’s most important characteristic is spindle pitch, which determines the speed, the force and the accuracy of the drive.

Spindle drives are suitable for applications which necessitate high levels of force and accuracy, for example press-fitting operations, adjusting fixed stops, format changeovers etc.
